Our Minister - Saint Columba URC Liverpool

Hello everyone my name is Alan Crump and I was Ordained and Inducted as minister to Saint Columba's
Hunts Cross and St James Methodist/United Reformed Church Woolton in September 2008.
Prior to my Ordination I had spent four wonderful years in training for ministry at the United
Reformed Church Northern College based at Luther King House in Rusholme. Here I studied with students from the UK
and overseas from a number of Christian denominations. It was a real time of growth in my faith, as well as many
challenges as I served in a number of churches and community placements.
I have been called into ministry late in life having had a career in banking for 27 years, which I
thoroughly enjoyed and feel it has helped to equip me in my role as minister. I moved around in my banking career
from working in branches and in sales and operations areas in and around Manchester but this did not involve moving
home, so my move to Liverpool has been my first move outside Bury/Radcliffe in my life and what an exciting place
for my wife and I to come to.
I am a family man with two grown up children and my wife and I now have an extended family in the
two churches where we have been welcomed with open arms. It is a joy to serve in this Pastorate and the wider
community and I firmly believe that God has placed us here to share in the work of the Church in South
Liverpool..
With every blessing
Alan
